Larry63r. Posted July 26, 2012. The main reason they leak is because dirt gets into the seal. If your chain is to tight it pulls on the sprocket and lets a little oil weep out as well. I pull my counter shaft sprocket off every month or so and clean the dirt out of the seal. A Q-tip works great. Just pull the sprocket and the metal collar.

Agreeing with chip, I have gotten incredible durability up to 60 hours on my 2012 150sx top end and piston still looked great !!! Ringed it and put it back together. I also run synthetic motorex crosspower 2t motor oil and bel ray synthetic 80w 90 gear oil in my transmission and it fixed my 2016 tc125's slight shifting issues under load.

I've owned a dozen or more 250 SX models over the years. I just took delivery on a new 2023 250 SX (TBI) bike. It's very shiny and hi-tech looking. And yes, I did press the 'start' button while running already. In the past I've ignored KTM's suggested 60:1 fuel / oil ratio, and used synthetic oil, usually Motul 710 or 800 at 40:1 or thereabouts.
